New Patient Information

At Purple Plum Dentistry, our team is always striving to exceed expectations from the very first visit. If you’re brand-new to our dental office, please take a few minutes to read the following information so that you know what to expect from this appointment and what we will expect from you. We want you to feel confident about what’s to come! If any questions or concerns arise, don’t hesitate to let us know.

The New Patient Experience

Thank you for choosing to join our dental family! Purple Plum Dentistry prides itself in offering a calm, soothing environment for your dental needs. Dr. Kiani and her staff are compassionate and trained to listen to our patient’s concerns. Please set time aside for your first appointment with us. We at Purple Plum Dentistry like to get to know our patients individually.

Please arrive early if you can to fill out our new patient paperwork. You can also find our patient registration forms online. Your first visit will consist of a through interview; our office takes the new patient experience seriously. We will review your medical and dental history, along with asking some follow up questions. The interview is a perfect time to address new interests, such as cosmetic work, cavities, and Invisalign. Please let us know what you’re interested in!

We will then start by taking your new patient photos. These pictures help the doctor see your teeth even when you’re not in the office! They’re useful tools for diagnostic and preventive care. You may ask for a copy of your own photos. Our assistants will then begin your dental radiographs. We currently have the latest technology in radiography. The radiation exposure is less than you experience going outside or eating a banana! Please note that you may request your radiographs from us at any point.

Our doctor will come into introduce herself and see you for your comprehensive exam. Dr. Kiani may ask some follow up questions in regards to your concerns and interests. Dr. Kiani will already have reviewed your medical and dental history. The doctor also will have screened your photos and x-rays before she begins her exam. Dr. Kiani’s exam includes checking every tooth in her patient’s mouth. Dr. Kiani uses an intraoral camera inside the mouth so that she can show you pictures of your individual teeth.

If you are due for your regular dental cleaning, our associate will see you for your dental cleaning while Dr. Kiani organizes all the information. Your teeth will be scaled, polished and flossed. We typically recommend for all our patients to have the fluoride treatment at least once a year. Fluoride helps prevent cavities in teeth. Please let our assistants know if you would like the fluoride treatment. Periodontal patients may have to make a second appointment for their cleanings, depending on their individual needs.

Once our patient intake process is finished and your cleaning is complete, you will be escorted to our consultation room. Dr. Kiani will be ready to discuss a tour of your mouth. Here, Dr. Kiani and you will work together to create your treatment plan. She will be able to answer your questions and explain the process. An insurance coordinator will follow up in the room to discuss your insurance coverage and be able to schedule your future appointments. We advise our patients to schedule their next visits during their current appointment to ensure that our patients get their desired times and dates.

No Insurance? No Worries!

In today’s world, more patients than ever before don’t currently have traditional dental insurance coverage. This shouldn’t have to preclude you from caring for your smile in the ways it deserves, though – quite the opposite. At Purple Plum Dentistry, we offer an in-house dental membership plan that functions in a very similar way to insurance while eliminating many of the common frustrations and restrictions we’re all familiar with. There are no yearly maximums and deductibles – instead, patients pay flat fees without strings attached to access free preventive care, valuable discounts, and much more.

Financing Options

For added convenience, Purple Plum Dentistry is happy to accept financing through CareCredit for extensive treatment. This third-party company offers multiple lengths of affordable payment plans, all of which come with very little to no interest attached. Patients can even use this type of financial aid to cover the cost of purely cosmetic services that would be disqualified from traditional insurance coverage regardless.
